Christina Bouza – founder, jefa & creative vision behind Cubana Social’s mission, menu, live music, & community events. Cuban American, born & raised in South Florida. Bachelors degree in Music from Berklee College. Brooklyn resident since 2006. Musician, chef, activist, radical queer feminist, artist, bird & nature enthusiast. Hopes to make community space for joy & togetherness, feed people well, celebrate music & dance, & activate thriving connections back to our grandmothers & mother earth.

Chaydha Pleasant – front of house manager & the warmth, heart & face of the Cubana Social customer experience. Persian African American, from North Carolina. Bachelors degree from Antioch University. Brooklyn resident since 2006. Certified Doula, formerly one-third of performance group OMG Michelle, assistant at Yeah Dawg, proud Jeep owner. Hopes to be an ally & advocate to women & mothers, be active amongst friends in joyful community, learn more dance video moves, travel to beautiful places.

Wayne Tucker & Eran Fink – Wayne is trumpet player, arranger, composer, educator & graduate of the Jazz Program at SUNY Purchase. Fink is a percussionist from Israel, graduate of Berklee College of Music, Rimon School of Jazz & Contemporary Music, & Thelma Yellon School of the Arts. Together they curate a healthy rotation of live jazz & latin jazz musicians on Thursday & Friday nights at Cubana Social

Joshua Levine – New York native and Oberlin Conservatory of Music graduate/merit scholar who studied Latin American & Caribbean music with Roberto Fuentes of Venezuela and José Luis Martínez of Cuba. Levine is an integral part of the Latin and Jazz community in NYC, is the bandleader for Cuarteto Guataca and plays regularly with Grupo Irek and through the non-profits HAI (Healing Arts Initiative) and CIM (Concerts in Motion). Josh curates a vibrant rotation of live Salsa & Son musicians on Saturday nights at Cubana Social

Geko Jones – Cubana Social’s resident First Saturday DJ. Brooklyn-based Puerto-lombian DJ/Producer, party promoter, & founding member of both the New York Tropical and Que Bajo?! He is a partner and co-owner of the Dutty Artz record label with producer Matt Shadetek and DJ /Rupture. His mixes span the tropical hemispheres and collage together globally sonic hours of dancefloor mayhem. Renowned by top DJ’s and producers of the digital cumbia scene in Latin America and European bass-pundits alike, Jones is one of the seCubana Social is..
